Michelle has been engaging in politics for over 4+ years as a volunteer for local officials.
Meanwhile, she has joined many political organizations, such as Illinois Democratic Women of Will County, Will County Central Committee and is a founding member of the newly organized Will County Democratic Black Caucus. Michelle was elected in 2019 to the Joliet Township High School #204 Board.
Michelle began a career in Education launching a home daycare business. At the same time she attended Governors State University earning a BA in Liberal Arts; Master degrees in Special Ed. (K-12) and Educational Administration. She has 18 years in education, having taught at Humphrey Middle School and Bolingbrook H.S. Currently, she is a special education administrator in Joliet 86 School District.
Michelle and her husband Jesse have been married for 23+ years. They have 3 wonderful sons, Ameen (19), Leon (17), and Bill (15). They have lived in the Joliet area for the past 16 years.
